Eduardo Franco, who portrayed the beloved character Argyle in the previous season, has disclosed that he was not included in the call list for Stranger Things Season 5.
The news surfaced during an interview with Steve Varley on YouTube, where Franco addressed the fan speculation surrounding his character’s absence from recent set photos. When asked about his return for the final season, Franco responded, “It’s nice to hear that there’s some sort of concern or something, y’know what I mean? But uh, I never got a phone call, so I think that that’s it.”
Argyle, introduced in Season 4 as Jonathan Byers’ best friend and the comedic pizza delivery guy, quickly became a fan favorite. However, it seems that Argyle’s fate in the upcoming season remains uncertain, leaving fans to wonder if the character will be written off properly.
The absence of Franco from the recently shared cast photograph on the official Stranger Things Instagram page further fueled speculations about his departure. The photo included familiar faces such as Millie Bobby Brown, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, and David Harbour, but Argyle’s character was noticeably missing.
Varley, expressing hope for Franco’s return, asked during the interview if there was a chance for Argyle to make an appearance in Season 5. Despite Varley’s optimism, Franco remained uncertain, stating, “It’s nice to hear that there’s, there’s some sort of, you know, concern or something, you know what I mean? But I never got a phone call, so I think that’s it.”
Fans have since taken to social media to express their disappointment and concern over Argyle’s potential exclusion. Many are urging the show’s creators to at least feature Argyle in one or two episodes to provide the character with a proper ending.
